A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Olinda, Brazil by TravelPod blogger Michael_lizi titled “Our first scam!”. TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Michael_lizi’s travel blog entry: “Getting to Olinda was a bit of a mission. We had a 2 hour bus journey back to Salvador, a 4 hour wait in the bus station and then a 12 hour bus journey to Recife, where I managed to get us lost for 2 hours looking for a bus to Olinda! Recife is famed as Brazil´s most violent city, so hanging around for 2 hours looking lost is not that much fun. You´re not that nimble when you have about 5 stone´s worth of backpack on your back in the beating sun!!! And the delightful smell from the river with raw sewage in it was not helping much! When we eventually got to Olinda we managed to pick up a city guide who found us a hostel and offered to come back the next morning to show us round the city for ´free´. He worked for a charity and his services were ´free´ – we could just make a small donation to his charity of whatever we saw fit! More on that later! Later on in the evening we went out to a gorgeous little square and drank beers and eat tapioca and then got be-friended by a small Brazilian girl. At first, she was all fun and games and played nicely for about 20 minutes. Then she started whipping us with branches, pulling my hair and kicking me. That was the end of our quiet little beer in the square! So we went out for dinner and I ordered Aubergine Parmigianna – what came out

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Sao Paulo, Brazil by TravelPod blogger Davidandem titled “Sao Paulo…is it as dangerous as they say?” Davidandem’s travel blog entry: “Before arriving in Sao Paulo we kept getting warned again and again about how dangerous it was, so naturally were pretty on edge when we realised our flight was getting in at midnight. We stupidly hadn’t bothered to book accomodation in advance and were relying on turning up in a hotel we found in Lonely Planet. BAD IDEA. The taxi driver couldn’t find our hotel and after driving round the block a few times (being shouted at by local youths) he made us get out on the main road and pointed to where he thought the hotel might be. At this point we were pretty much ******** ourselves as we obviously had all our belongings, money and passports on us. We had also banked on Brazilians being able to understand Spanish (which they don’t) so communication was near to impossible. We managed to find some men on the street who knew where the hotel was and very kindly walked us to the door (which was an unmarked passage in between two other buildings). Unfortunately, the hotel owner didn’t speak English or Spanish and we couldn’t speak Portuguese, although we managed to understand enough to know that she had no rooms free! So, back into the street again (the time now nearly one o’clock), in search of another place that the hotel owner had written down for us. This hotel also turned out to have no

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Pipa, Brazil by TravelPod blogger Julesjb titled “Sun, sand, sea & Dolphins!” Julesjb’s travel blog entry: “Finally got to Praia Da Pipa and found that it was incredibly touristy. But the sun was shining and at the least the beaches were clean and the water nice, so I was happy. That afternoon I went for a walk around and took a few photos before going to the beach to work on my tan and enjoy the water. That evening I met two great gay guys at the hostel, one was from Salvador – Lula and the other from Spain – Juan, and since neither spoke much english it was interesting communicating in a mixture of english, spanish and portugese. We all went out for a wander around town that night and they invited me to join them for a hike along the praia’s the next day. So we were all up early the next day and we all went walking from Pipa along to the next bay called the Bahia De Golphino’s because of the dolphins which frequent it and in which we actually saw several dolphins swimming about. We then continued on to the next beach which was quite beautiful and deserted compared to all the tourists at Pipa. I really gave my new speedo dick stickers a work out and ended up burning my thighs! After we finally arrived at Tibau Do Sul which is the southern headland of where a large lagoon empties into the sea, we had a late lunch and then watched the sunset over the lagoon. Whilst sitting at the bar sipping Caipirinha’s I met a gorgeous
